Background of the Study

Eco-friendly infrastructure refers to facilities and systems designed to reduce environmental harm and promote sustainability. Corporate investments in such infrastructure can enhance business sustainability by reducing operational costs, improving brand reputation, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. In Nigeria, where environmental challenges such as pollution and deforestation are prevalent, corporate investments in eco-friendly infrastructure are becoming increasingly important.

Nigerian businesses are beginning to recognize the value of sustainability in long-term success. Investments in eco-friendly infrastructure, such as renewable energy systems, green buildings, and waste management facilities, contribute to environmental protection and create economic opportunities. This study examines the effect of corporate investments in eco-friendly infrastructure on business sustainability in Nigeria, highlighting the benefits and challenges of these investments.

Statement of the Problem

While corporate investments in eco-friendly infrastructure have the potential to enhance business sustainability, their adoption in Nigeria remains limited. Challenges such as high initial costs, lack of awareness, and weak regulatory support hinder widespread adoption. This study explores the impact of such investments on business sustainability and identifies the barriers preventing their broader implementation.

  2. To identify challenges faced by businesses in adopting eco-friendly infrastructure.

  3. To propose strategies for promoting corporate investments in eco-friendly infrastructure in Nigeria.

Research Questions

  1. How do corporate investments in eco-friendly infrastructure affect business sustainability in Nigeria?

  2. What challenges hinder the adoption of eco-friendly infrastructure by Nigerian businesses?

  3. What strategies can encourage corporate investments in eco-friendly infrastructure in Nigeria?

Research Hypotheses

  1. Corporate investments in eco-friendly infrastructure significantly enhance business sustainability in Nigeria.

  2. High initial costs and weak regulatory support hinder the adoption of eco-friendly infrastructure.

  3. Increased awareness and financial incentives will promote corporate investments in eco-friendly infrastructure.
